Update on oldage home, orphan home and donations

Sahaya - the helping hands Projects (2006 March - Current)

Sai Seva Sang - Oldage Home (2006 - Current)

Project Started on Mar 1st, 2006. This oldage home is in Kondapur with 25 old people. We are one of the sponsors for this oldage home helping them with their current expenses and their extension plans of joining old people in years to come. Every month 450$ is sent with an amount of 100$ in emergency fund that would be utilized in emergency situations such as health and other miscellaneous expenses.

Sri Satya Sai Seva Samithi - Orphan Home (2006 - Current)

Project Started on April 1st, 2006. This orphan home is located in Kondapur currently supporting 21 orphans. We are the only sponsors of this Orphan home helping them with the orphan home expenses and education expenses.

Sahaya - Orphan Home (2007 - Current)

Project Starting on June 1st, 2007. Sahaya will be the complete sponsor supporting 10 children with their education, orphan home maintenance and health aspects of children. Education will be in Vidhya Bharathi School, one of the top schools in BHEL. BHEL is about 20 Kms from Hyderabad city, a safest township and fully secured with well equipped facilities.

World Vision in Africa (2007)

Project "WorldVision - Africa" will be starting from August 1 2007. As part of this project we will be collecting a significant amount of money and with the help of World Vision, we will be providing food expenses for 20 - 30 people atleast for one month.

Help to "Suresh" (2007)

Sahaya helped Suresh an F1 Student at Eastern Illinois University who met with a serious accident and was admitted in ERLANGER HOSPITAL, Chattanooga TN with no medical insurance. We have a sent a donation of 690$ for medical expenses of Suresh.

Scholarship to Engineering Student (2007)

We gave a scholarship of Rs. 15000 to a prospective engineering student by name "Phanindra" with an Eamcet rank of 2836 from a low-income family, who couldnt afford to pay his education fees for this academic year. This kid is from Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh, he got a seat in ECE in his home town itself. This scholarship will be useful to pay his education expenses for this academic year. We offered our help for next few years based on his academic performance. College: Gudlavalleru Engg. College, Machilipatnam, AP

Scholarship to MLT Student (2007)

We provided a full scholarship to a 14 yr old metric passed student. He is enrolled in an MLT course in Hyderabad, which is a 2 yr course, upon completion will be hired as a medical lab technician. The same institute will help him in this hiring process. Education fee is Rs 8000/year. He will be staying in the orphan home along with other kids helping them out with their schooling and guiding them as a mentor. So apart from education fees we will be also taking care of his other living expenses like food, health and education material expenses.

Rasalpoora Flagship Project (2006)

Sahaya became a participant in rasalpoora flagship project providing help in construction of a school in Bihar. We donated 350$ as a contribution to these efforts.

Save life of "Rajendra" (2006)

On April 26, 2006 Rajendra was hit by a truck on I-66 while driving back to home. He was air lifted to the trauma center at INOVA’s Fairfax Hospital, Fairfax, VA. He suffered severe brain stem injury and is in a state of coma since then. He is in a very critical condition and needs urgent medical, nursing, and rehabilitation care. Sahaya contributed 500$ for the medical expenses of Rajendra.
